Terms of Use
Last updated: 31 July 2026
These Terms govern your use of Shut Hub (the “Service”) operated by Industrial Hypertext (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Accounts
- Two account types are available: contractor (individual tradesperson) and company admin (employee of a mining or processing company).
- You must provide a valid email address and a password of at least 8 characters. You are responsible for safeguarding your password.
- Company admin accounts are tied to a company. The first person to register a company becomes the team owner; additional team members can only join by invite.
- Account verification is by email click-through. We may suspend or remove accounts that are inactive, fraudulent, or used to violate these Terms.
2. Use of the Service
- Contractors may rate their tickets and trades, browse approved shutdowns, and apply directly to the company posting the shut.
- Company admins may post shutdowns, invite team members, and review applications.
- The Service is a coordination platform. Industrial Hypertext is not a labour-hire company, is not the employer of any contractor, and does not take on direct workplace, safety, payment, or compliance obligations between contractors and companies.
- All employment, contracting, mobilisation, induction, payment and dispute matters are between the contractor and the company posting the shutdown.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misrepresent your tickets, trades, qualifications, or identity.
- Post a shutdown for work that does not exist, or impersonate a company you do not represent.
- Scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect data from the Service in bulk.
- Send abusive, discriminatory, or harassing content via the in-platform messaging or application flows.
- Attempt to bypass, defeat, or test the security controls of the Service without prior written authorisation.
4. Content you provide
You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile details, shutdown postings, application cover notes, messages). You grant Industrial Hypertext a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, and display that content for the purpose of operating the Service.
5. Moderation
Job postings, applications, public profiles, and outreach messages are reviewed by Industrial Hypertext admin before publication or delivery. We reserve the right to reject or remove any content that breaches these Terms or that we judge unsuitable for the platform.
6. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, accuracy of contractor or company information, or any specific outcome (e.g. that a shut will fill or that an application will succeed). To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Industrial Hypertext’s liability is limited to the fees paid by you to use the Service (which is currently zero).
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage or by email to active users. Continued use of the Service after a change indicates acceptance.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Western Australia.
